Your Guide to Designing Your Best Summer Ever
What would it take for you to have your best summer ever?
I used to hate planning, but ever since my interview with time management expert Laura Vanderkam, I’ve been successfully embracing it. It’s been going very well! If you want your days to be smooth and easy, some planning is in fact quite necessary.
You may already have a great plan for this summer, but in case you don’t, I have a few ideas to get you started. Start by setting aside at least 30 minutes to try these exercises.
3 Simple Steps to Plan Your Best Summer Ever
1. Visualize yourself at the end of summer 2024. What did you accomplish? What did you experience? How do you want to feel? Make some notes to get the ideas flowing.
2. Ask yourself these questions, while continuing to jot notes:
- Is there somewhere I want to go?
- Is there something fun happening in town that I’d love to experience?
- What new thing do I want to try?
- Who do I want to connect with? How can I connect with them?
- What daily habits could help me keep my summer on track?
3. Now get out your calendar and pencil in some adventures! If you end up planning only one tiny adventure or manage just one phone call to a friend during this time, know that that is a win. Life is hard, friends, and every step in the direction of our dreams, however small, will help you get there. I believe in you, and I believe in your ability to make your life better.
Here’s to designing a especially fantastic summer that sparks joy! It may even be your best one ever. Cheers! 🥂
